There's a lot that's new about the nano G5 despite its similarities to the previous incarnations, not the least being the addition of a video camera at the back of the device.  It has a larger, higher-quality 2.2" TFT display (240x376, 204 pip, up from 2 inches), and an integrated microphone and speaker as well, still ridiculously thin and light, even connote get up to 36.4g.

Don't suspect, it's definitely new - The Apple nano fifth generation.

Nano G5 features an aluminum and glossy case. The surface also add another layer of interest to the exterior configuration, and is well scratch-resistant. Available in a rainbow array of nine colors -- silver, black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, and (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition.

Just like the previous generation, nano number five also orients the cover flow display and photo display on the screen. Audio file formats that the Nano can play back include MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV and Apple Lossless.

For storage, it uses either 8 GB or 16 GB of flash memory, able supporting 2000 or 4000 songs,7000 or 14,000 photos, and 8 hours or 16 hours of video, respectively. And for battery, nano 5G's battery life equals to the "fat" iPod nano (3G) rather than the iPod nano 4G which had reduced. Apple rates the nano's video playback at 5 hour and music rated for 24 hours, which longer than the previous player managed.

Beyond these new featured, the iPod nano 5G also gains a video camera -- capable of shooting H.264 VGA 640x480 at 30 FPS with AAC audio. And there are some preset video filters included black and white, sepia and x-ray which can be applied and processed over the video in real time. However there's an odd thing -- it still cannot snap photos. We can only wonder why Apple would have left off such functionality. Maybe the next generation?

With the upgraded iTunes 9, you can now use Genius Mixes on your nano. This new feature will create custom mixes, such as Alternative & Punk, Hip-Hop/Rap or Electronic to name a few. These are fully automated so there's no extra work on your part to activate them, but do note that the iPod does need to be synced with iTunes to use this feature.

One of the most excited change on iPod is that nano finally became an FM tuner. And it seems that over the years Apple has finally taken notice and acquiesced. The nano's radio is one of the most creative on a portable music player, most innovative as it's capable of pausing, rewinding and tracking live radio. While your nano has tuned into a station, it begins buffering the broadcast, that means you can pause, rewind and resume up to 15 minutes of audio from the point at which you began listening. Rewinding and fast-forwarding through the buffered audio works in one minute increments, stamped with the original broadcast's time. While you listen to the radio, if once you hear a song that you like it  very much, you can even "tag"  the track to find later in iTunes.nano 5g itunes

With the addition of a pedometer, iPod nano 5G can also takes track steps and syncs with your Nike+ account.
