Apple's CEO Steve Jobs has posted an open letter explain their "Thoughts on Flash", and now they have launched a new page decocted to showcasing the capabilities of HTML5. It has pointed that the modern standards "aren't add-ons to the web. They are the web", HTML5 do not require users to install any proprietary plug-ins like Adobe required to do with Flash. Apple posts : "Every new Apple mobile device and every new Mac — along with the latest version of Apple’s Safari web browser — supports web standards including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. These web standards are open, reliable, highly secure, and efficient. They allow web designers and developers to create advanced graphics, typography, animations, and transitions. Standards aren’t add-ons to the web. They are the web. And you can start using them today." It showcases some demos like video and audio playback, typography, image manipulation, “VR” panoramas, and 360º-view presentations. And at the bottom of the page has links to the Developers center to let you learn more about this HTML5. |
