Apple has devote lots of fervor into education. Its Web site just updated last week bringing some new youth programs and opened up spring registration for field trips to Apple Stores. Apple offers the field trips twice a year, spring and fall. The field trips are free to join in, but kids need to register before. The registration for this spring trip now is open, for weekday events Feb 22 through May 1.
Apple not only offers the field trips For Kids, there're three categories of programs, also For Families and For Teachers.
In the family category, Apple offers a variety of workshops to teach kids how to write a song in GarageBand or build a photo album in iPhoto. In fact, these workshops show kids how to improve their skills using all of the iLife and iWork applications. The Youth Workshops are held at Apple retail stores worldwide.
For teachers and schools, Apple offers the opportunity for field trips to an Apple store. This looks pretty cool for kids. You can create a project at the store or “they can bring in a project they’ve already created and turn our store into a theater, sharing their achievements with parents, teachers, and friends,” according to Apple.
Apple also has what it calls “Apple Camp.” Recommended for ages 8 to 12, the Apple Camps teach kids how to use the iLife and iWork suite of apps. After they make their projects, the kids will be able to take their projects home on a DVD. Registration begins in May.
