According to the WSJ reports, that Apple is working on two new iPhone modles. One of the new could allow other U.S. phone carriers, would be CDMA, Verizon's network, which everybody has been watting for.
Verizon will offer the type of wireless network called CDMA, the competitor of AT&T's GSM. So there would be two kind of new iPhone release later this year.Verizon is the largest cellular service provider in the U.S. with over 91 million subscribers. Since AT&T has iPhone for 3 years, not all the people satisfied with the wireless service. With Apple developing new iPhone capable with CDMA, it bring the competition between AT&T and Verizon, people have hopes this will make the service be better.
Separately, Apple plans to release a new version of its current iPhone this summer, continuing its practice of annual upgrades at about the same time of year, said people briefed on the matter. The model is likely to be thinner and have a faster processor, two people familiar with the device said.
An AT&T spokesman said: "There has been lots of incorrect speculation on CDMA iPhones for a long time. We haven't seen one yet and only Apple knows when that might occur." Apple declined to comment.
